Term 2009
7th January: Winter Welcome Back We played
a winter themed game, made a 2009 snowman calender, an icicle charm, an
edible snowman and a snowflake picture.
14th January: ItalyWe made
mosaics from shiny card, played Roman style dice games, 'painted the
Cistine chapel', played two Italian games (along the streets of Rome
and Lupo Della Ore) and make pizza.
11th February: Promise Party4th February: Ireland
We played hunt the ladybird (Rainbows in Ireland are called Ladybirds), made clay shamrocks, a Leprechaun craft, a Celtic knot-work craft and listened to a story from Ireland. We had a
promise party with games and food.
25th February: Thinking Day We had a thinking day celebration and celebrated Panther's 30th birthday! 4th March: Russia We coloured Russian dolls, played a
Russian Game, making edible Faberge style eggs, and listened to a
Russia folk story.
18th March: Greece11th March: The
Netherlands
We coloured pictures on a Netherlands
theme, made a handprint tulip, a tulip made from paper, a windmill, and
listening to a story from the Netherlands.
We played a Greek game (witches, elves
and wizards), tried 2 Greek dances, ate some Greek food and made a
mythological paper Phoenix.
1st April: Easter Theme25th March:
Scandinavia
We played hunt the troll, made Danish heart baskets, troll pencil toppers, a Viking themed craft and Swedish doves. We made Easter crafts and played Easter themed games. |
