5th Rainham Brownies
|
|
We are girls aged seven to eleven. Our Pack
meet in Rainham (Kent, England) on a Thursday. If
you'd like to join us,
please e-mail 5thrainhambrownies@blueyonder.co.uk
or telephone 01634 360415 for more
details. For other brownie units in Kent please contact your nearest
Division Commissioner, details on the Kent West
Website.
Our Leader is called Brown Owl. Our other
Guider is called Mercedes. They are helped by Natalie (our Unit helper)
and on special occasions by Panther. We have a Young Leader called
Sarah and two Pack leaders.
We have Four sixes: The Imps, the Pixies, the Gnomes and the Elves. Click on the characters above to view our six pages. We have 6 mascots. If we are helpful at Brownies we may get to look after one of them. Recently we had a visit from Violet, the mascot of a Girl Scout Troop in Chicago. We would like to here from other Brownies or Girl Scouts who would like to exchange mascots with us. We have adopted an owl from Tomar Owl Sanctuary. He is a Tawny Owl called Coco. 5th Rainham Brownies
was started in the Summer of 1968. Our Brown Owl took over in 1972 and
has been with us ever since. For the first 35 years of its life, 5th
Rainham Brownies met at
Meredale Infants School. In the summer of 2003 we
held our last ever meeting there. These photographs were taken as we
said goodbye.
Over the years we have celebrated many
guiding landmarks. In 1985 we celebrated 75 years of guiding. These
photographs were taken at our District and Unit celebrations.
If you were a 5th Rainham Brownie we'd love to hear your memories. E-mail us at louise@tartarus.org. |
