These are the challenges included
in the you are healthy section of our Wise Owl booklet. Often we work on a challenge in a small group, but sometimes the whole Pack is involved. |
Adventure
A1) Act
out a short play or make a poster encouraging sun safety.
A2) Discover how good you are at cleaning your hands. There is a messy way to do this on page 46 of the Brownie Adventure handbook. A3) Act out a short play or make a poster encouraging people to look after their teeth. A4) Try some relaxation techniques. A5) Try some warm up exercises and know why they are important. A6) Make a healthy snack or draw a poster telling people about the healthy food pyramid. A7) Make a fresh fruit salad or try a piece of fruit you have not tried before. A8) Find out why special confectionary exists for diabetics and/or vegans and try some diabetic and/or vegan chocolate. A9) Improve your bat and ball skills. A10) With an adult you know go for a walk or cycle ride. A11) Do any other challenge that will help you keep healthy. |

AO1) Play a game to
discover some of the
effects
drugs can have on the body.
AO2) Investigate different products that will keep your skin and hair clean. If possible invite an expert to your meeting. AO3) Invite a doctor, dentist or someone similar to your meeting. AO4) Find out why young women often have mood swings and discuss or role play strategies for dealing with strong emotions. AO5) Learn how to lift heavy objects correctly. AO6) Play a game to discover more about nutrition and why diets without certain foods can be dangerous. AO7) Taste test some vegetarian or vegan food and discuss whether a vegetarian or vegan diet is healthy or unhealthy. AO8) Be aware that eating or touching some food can cause people who are allergic to be very ill. Discuss how to get emergency help and investigate product labels. AO9) Make up a three minute keep fit routine. AO10) Try a new sport such as ski-ing or ice skating. AO11) Do any other challenge that will help you keep healthy. |
