Issues around the world

These are the challenges included in the issues around the world section of our Wise Owl booklet.
Often we work on a challenge in a small group, but sometimes the whole Pack is involved.

Adventure

A1) Taste test some fair trade chocolate and find out what the fair trade symbol looks like.
A2) Taste different types of clean safe water, such as tap water, filtered water, bottled water, etc. Think of all the times you use water. How could you use less water if there was a drought?
A3) Find out about an organisation that helps people across the world. Draw the flag or symbol of the organisation.
A4) Make up a short play about people arguing and then try not to argue with anyone for a week. What things can you do to help you stop arguing?
A5) Play a game that isn't fair. How could you change the rules to make it fair?
A6) Make something which includes a symbol for peace.
A7) Take part in a 'peace' themed evening.
A8) Find out about the lives of refugees.
A9) Find out about children's rights in your country, and elsewhere in the world.
A10) Do another challenge related to world issues.
