These are the challenges included in the celebrations around the world section of our Wise Owl booklet. Often we work on a challenge in a small group, but sometimes the whole Pack is involved. |

Adventure
A1) Take part in an activity to celebrate the New Year of your own or another culture. A2) Take part in your own version of a civic celebration such as the Sienese Palio or Independence Day. A3) Take part in a theme evening based on a festival. A4) Make something to celebrate a festival. A5) Listen to or act out a story that is central to a celebration. A6) Learn a song that is sung at a festival. A7) Play a game from a festival. A8) Invite someone to your meeting to talk about a festival that they celebrate. A9) Cook and/or try something eaten at a festival. A10) Take part in another activity to celebrate a religious or civic festival. |

AO1) Help to organise an activity to celebrate the New Year of your own or another culture. AO2) Help to organise or lead a group during a civic celebration such as the Sienese Palio or Independence Day. AO3) Help to organise a theme evening based on a festival. AO4) Make something to celebrate a festival. AO5) Find out the religious or historic context behind a celebration. AO6) Perform at least two songs that are sung at a celebration. AO7) Take part in an activity from a festival. AO8) Invite someone to your meeting to talk about a festival that they celebrate. Write the invitation and thank them at the end. AO9) Cook something eaten at a festival. AO10) Take part in another activity to celebrate a religious or civic festival. |
