Henry VIII, Pax Wood House (2003)

The Quest

Henry offered great prizes to anyone who could find him the Holy Grail.

We started by visiting the wise woman of the village, who told us four islands on which grails could be found.

Before we could sail to those islands we learnt sailors knots and whistle signals that the Tudors would have used.

The wise woman gave us a map like this.

Before we could reach the island of Avalon we had to steer our ship (a large cardboard box) between the rocks (chairs) that surrounded the island.

When we arrived on Avalon we found the occupants were in the middle of a festival. We joined in with many of their silly contests. We stuck our heads in flour to get a maltester, passed cups of water over our head and moved peas using a straw.

The villagers then showed us where the dragons were. We threw balls at the dragons to knock them unconscious, and then took the grail.

Before we could reach the island of Liliput we had to cross waters where pirates dwelt.

Once at Liliput we helped the villagers to rebuild their city. In return they gave us their 'giant' grail.

Before we could reach the island of Castile we had to feed the sea monster, who kept squirting us with water!

In Castile we hunted for the hidden grail.

On the island of Kanga we followed tracking signs which lead us to the grail.

When we had all four grails we returned to the wise women who told us which was the real Holy Grail.

The first six to bring Henry the Holy Grail was the Lords.
Henry gave the Dukes a special mention because the farmhouse they built on Liliput was excellent.
