Helping your community

These are the challenges included in the helping your community section of our Wise Owl booklet.
Often we work on a challenge in a small group, but sometimes the whole Pack is involved.



Adventure
A1) With your Guider set yourself a suitable lend a hand challenge.
A2) Make up at least five rules that you think Brownies should live by.
A3) Know how to speak when someone is lip reading. Try to lip read.
A4)Take on a special job at your meeting place for at least 3 weeks.
A5)Take part in a Brownie good turn.
A6) Know what to do if you or someone you know burns themself.
A7) Help prepare dinner.
A8) Lay the table and help with the washing up.
A9) Make a card for someone who needs cheering up.
A10) Do another challenge that will help people.


Adventure On

AO1) Set yourself a suitable lend a hand challenge.
AO2) Find out what the country code is. Either make up a leaflet to show others how to behave in the country, or make up a similar code for the area where you live.
AO3) Learn to spell your name using either the BSL or Deafblind alphabet.
AO4) Help to wash your parents' or Guider's car.
AO5) Help organise a Brownie good turn.
AO6) Learn how to tie a reef knot and use it to tie a sling.
AO7) Cook some cakes or biscuits.
AO8) Help a younger Brownie with something.
AO9) Write a letter inviting a visitor, and thank them for coming.
AO10) Do another challenge that will help people.
