Sidgwick Table

I think that you should closely view
The table over there.
For you will find that, in its mind,
It thinks that it's a chair.

Despite the lack of any back,
It's happy in this thought.
So should I show it what I know?
It might get quite distraught.

I think that we should leave it be,
In case we make it mad.
And anyway, a sofa's day
Can't really be that bad.
